Harvest Moon Wedding

Harvest Moon Wedding with a Chinese tea ceremony and ceremony at Tyninghame Beach.

This is a very special wedding. Two of my friends asked me if I would shoot their wedding for them at Harvest Moon Holidays. It has to be one of the most amazing places to get married. Everything was very personal, with still having a few of their own family traditions. You might have seen it featured on Boho Weddings

We had traditional Chinese games. Rob and the boys were challenged by the girls to prove his creativity, resourcefulness and his strength before he got to meet Mary. They then went over take to his parent’s glamping tent where they had a Chinese tea ceremony.

Mary then changed into her wedding dress which was an amazing Vivien Westwood bright floral print dress. We met up on the sand dunes for a first look couple’s shoot before the legal Humanist ceremony.

The wedding took place within a round banboo structure that they built the day before the wedding. It was tied together with Chinese ribbons at the top. After the ceremony, we all headed back to the campsite where we played lawn games of giant jenga and space hopper races. The meal was beautiful and we sat down for dinner. They had designed the table settings and the flowers on the table were picked from the fields that morning. The large R & M were designed and made by Mary’s sister Martha – Martha Ellis Design

The night ended with the ceilidh band taking us down to the beach in a lantern parade where we danced at the water’s edge, which was a wonderful magical moment.
