Michelle and Adam asked me to come over to Islay for their wonderful wedding. I arrived off the ferry where Michelle and her Dad, Brian picked me up. After showing me to the venue Michelle’s Dad kindly gave me a tour of the island. It was wonderful seeing the places that Michelle’s family had lived and getting to know them more before shooting her wedding.
The next day we really had to dodge the showers. Adam and Michelle had a beautiful ceremony in the small hidden Kilmeny Church in surrounded by trees. We had decided that we would love to use the views over to Jura for the couple’s photographs and even managed a quick stop in the local pub at Port Askaig. Then we joined all of the guests at the Ballygrant Inn. Famous for it’s whiskey selection if you are in the area. They had a traditional island reception of dancing and some Islay whiskey. Once the dancing was well underway, Adam and Michelle didn’t mind walking through fields to make the most of the very last of the beautiful evening light. They have such a wonderful group of family and friends. I felt like I knew everyone there and it was an absolute pleasure to go to the wedding. I hope sometime soon I’m in Islay again.
