Roderick Dhu Lookout Tower Loch Katrine
Back in September while we still had some colours on the trees I was asked by my long term client We Are Capco to photograph their new Roderick Dhu Lookout Tower at Loch Katrine.
I had been up to the site back in May with the design team for their summer get together, where we cycled around Loch Katrine then got to see the site progress of the build. I was there to photograph the fun.
I normally photograph We Are Capco adventure play structures with children running round, so this project was something new.
Photographing the tower meant my whole focus this time was on the design and architecture of the look out, with the views it provides over Loch Katrine and Ben A’an.
Before the shoot I did not know that Loch Katrine was the birth place of Scottish tourism in the early 1800s. The new look out is the latest tourist attraction at the loch. Getting to see the final project finished was brilliant. It’s up a short but steep climb and the views are well worth the effort.
